Selection of closed cooling towers

The proper coil configuration is an important consideration for a particular cooling process. In order to take into account the system liquid, spray water quality, and maintenance requirements, there are several different choices of coil material and structure. Serpentine galvanized steel coil is the most common type of coil in cooling equipment because it can use media such as water, glycol solutions and other clean and non-corrosive solutions and steam, and it is the lowest cost construction. Unjointed steel pipes are bent forward and backward to achieve the desired number of channels, and then assembled into coil bundles with common coil inlet/outlet connections. The assembled coil bundle is then galvanized by hot dip galvanizing. In the case of severe corrosion, higher-cost copper pipes and stainless steel pipes can be used instead of ordinary steel pipes. Where scaling or clogging is likely, a coil structure with a shared inlet/outlet interface with removable panels should be considered for easy cleaning of the inside of the coil when necessary.
